Florence Nightingale

This week I have mostly been dealing with a sickly dog. My sister's sickly dog to be exact. She is an old dog, we though thirteen but the vet now reckons fifteen. My sister got Bella from Battersea Dogs Home about six years ago so it was anyone's guess how old she was. And considering she has only slowed down in the past two years we can be forgiven for having gotten it wrong.

So the Bella bean, who is one eyed after an op last year and cataracts in the remaining one, has had some exploratory surgery. She has growths, we were hoping they could remove them but they can't, so they stapled her back up. Now your probably thinking she is staggering everywhere, all forlorn... erm.... no. We have been in a battle of wills with her antibiotics, I have discovered I hiding it in a ball of tuna and hand feeding it seems to be working. She has had her ball out and has tried to play tug of war with her stuffed elephant. Is this really a dog of fifteen who has about twenty staples keeping her insides in??

The Parents have been up and down giving me a hand which has its ups and downs. Ups are nice meals and seeing them. The downside... having to watch Euro2008!! Sheesh!! In retaliation I WILL be watching Big Brother.

In between all of this I have managed to revise three quarters of Dream Date... it is patchy but still better than where it was. I'm hoping to get it finished before the RNA conference on the weekend.

Best of luck with Dream Date and I hope the dog is a little better.

Looking forward to the Conference too.
