2. Brief Encounter (1945) Such yearning... films don't end like this anymore
3. Lawrence of Arabia (1962) Never all the way through in one sitting
4. The 39 Steps (1935)
5. Great Expectations (1946) A very young John Mills and Dickie Attenborough. Watched this because studied it for GCSE. Has character called 'Biddy' in it so has to be GOOD ;-)
6. Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) I LOVE THIS FILM!! LOVE IT!! swoons at Alec G's brilliance

69. 'Hamlet" (1948) No - but have seen Branagh's uncut, four hour version. Went to the cinema to see it. Good. I think I should point out that I have had a bit of a Branagh thing since I was about 16 (oh and I've seen him on stage a few times, including Hamlet)

Some good films not on this list, what about 'Truly, Madly, Deeply'? Also I think 'Sliding Doors' should be on there (despite Gwyneth Paltrow)

I only watched it by accident, as I don't usually watch horror movies. Which, I suppose, goes to prove how good a movie it was, because I was totally sucked into it.
