Just had to post this picture. I spotted the movie poster on the Tube yesterday and I did a double take... actually more like a triple take. Just loved it! So powerful! Yum Yum!!

Update...

Things have slowed down on the writing front but I am still chugging along. I have polished my first chapter to send in to a competition being run by Lewisham Libraries and Mills & Boon. This sort of put me behind in terms of word count but has helped with plotting.

So currently I am 75% through the first draft... which means by the weekend I am hoping I will be done. Much celebrations will then ensue. Then of course it will be down to revising what is currently a big pile of tosh. Ho hum.

Off to see Ms Cohen in Reading tomorrow. This of course will make me lose a day but who cares!

Writing Update

As requested I am just popping in with a quick update on the writing front.

First, thank you for your comments... as a cheerleading squad you are doing an excellent job on keeping me going.

Secondly this week has been a little slower than last week, partly down to extra curricula activities (called socialising).

The word count currently stands at 22,657.

Now a quick question to some of you... when you are doing your first draft does it usually come in a little under the required word count? The reason I ask is that I know in revisions I am going to have to go back and put in things like description and flesh it out. So should I be panicking if I think the first revision comes up short?

And while you think about that here are two more pictures of Zoe and Jack... don't they make a lovely couple??

Writing...

Are we all sitting comfortably? Yes? Then I will begin...

I have started writing a new book. And it's a romance.

Oh dear, someone seems to have fainted in the back, be a love and pour some water on them. I know it is a little bit of shock but as I seem to have August to myself I have decided I have no excuse so I cracked my knuckles and got down to some planning. Planning is not something I have paid much attention to in terms of other books I have started but never finished so I was willing to give it a shot.

Anyway so far so good, 10,000 words since Tuesday. First draft should be done by the end of the month (or I will have to anwer to myself). And my hero and heroine?? Well have a lookee below!

Films (or lack of them)

In a grand attempt to go out to the cinema tonight I ran my eyes down the film listings.... NADA! ZILCH!! BUGGER ALL!!

Grrrrrr!

I don't want to see Shrek 3, The Simpsons or Transformers and everythingelse is all a bit... blah. I am desperate to see Bourne Ultimatum but that doesn't open here for another two weeks.

So as an alternative I checked out plays in London... honestly you would think there was something that PING! I want to see that. Well to tell you the truth there was but at £42.50 a ticket it was a leeetle steep for a random Friday night trip out (so we are going later in the month when there are cheaper tickets)

Why oh why isn't there any decent stuff on??? So in desperation I am off to see Harry Potter again.
