Dreaming...
Last night around 3.30am I had this vivid dream. It woke me up, I thought about writing it down but decided I wanted sleep more.
Back in the land of slumber I had the same dream again and again, each time the story was added to.
Then I dreamt that my sister had had the same dream so we compared our dreams.
After this I dreamt it again.
At about 6.30am I decided to take the hint and stumbled into the living room for a notepad. I wrote it down by the early light coming through the curtains.
I fell back to sleep and found that the story carried on.
I found myself jumping in and out of the shower this morning adding more and more notes to the dream.
All day it has been nagging me, pulling at me.
I wouldn't mind but this is a thriller and I don't have time for it!!
ARGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Good Friend/Bad Influence??

In May I went out for dinner with my good friend Matt. We have been friends since we were nineteen and have been through many ups and downs. I had noted that the only thing he was feeling passionate about recently was a juicer and a blender he had recently bought.
He is straight, early thirties and single.
Being excited about making smoothies seemed a little wrong.
So I called in 'The Biker Boyz'. Two blokes I work with who are mad keen bikers, The Two Mikes. I persuaded Matt to meet up with them for a teeny weeny bitty drink and a maybe a chat. I mean, he didn't have to listen. Did he?
They met on 1st June at about 6pm. The Boyz entered the pub in full leathers and placed their helmets on the table. Quite an entrance. Nothing like two well built men in leathers. I pointed out to Matt the pulling ability that becoming a biker would bring him.
By 6.02pm he was wavering, by 6.15pm they were pouring over biking magazines, by 6.30pm he had caved in.
Today he came round to show me his brand new shiny bike. In the past two months he has gone from never having ridden before to having passed his test to ride 500cc bikes.
I have NEVER seen him so happy.
So am I a good friend or a bad influence??

A Plea From The Management: The Rules
About 18 months ago I went through a little bit of a bad patch in the romance department, as opposed to the barren patch which I am currently travelling through. During this car crash/accident scene/horror movie period in my life (moi? over-dramatic? NO!) I came up with a list of rules which should govern all my actions from here to forever after. I printed them out and stuck them on my wardrobe and my mirror so they could stay with me when I was weak (which is often). I even toyed with the idea of writing a short story based on each of them.
Then I slowly stopped reading them. They were taken off the wardrobe and condensation caused a slow disintergration of them in the bathroom. I became complacent.
I could cope. Couldn't I?
This week has shown that I am currently racing with faulty brakes towards what looks like an oil slick on the Heartbreak Highway. I am hoping it is just weakness brought on by a cold and the slick is really just spilled olbas oil. But just in case and to help me avoid it, I am re-stating The Rules.

The Rules
1. Stop obsessing
2. Stop trying to romanticise things
3. There is NO double meaning in what he says
4. Be objective - if this was happening to a friend what would you tell them
5. Be yourself, don't apologise
6. His loss
If you would all please remember to SLAP ME with these if I seem to be straying from them.
The Management thanks you all for your time and hopes normal service will return soon.
