The Wedding Date

Was out at the cinema with the girls last night. We saw 'The Wedding Date' starring Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney drool

It is based on the book "Asking for Trouble" by Elizabeth Young, a fellow RNA member. I have to say I did give a small cheer when her name came up at the start of the movie.
The film is quite different from the book. The obligitory change of nationality of the main characters to enable it to be Hollywood-ised. They also had cut out quite a bit of the character development... made things a little confusing.

But considering that and the reviews the film received it was a pleasant surprise! As a woman I could appreciate the completely swoon-worthiness that is Mr Mulroney... the voice, the backside, the... the... *thunk*

Go and see it, I dare you.

Saddy Sad Sad Sad

I'm sitting here watching Kenny Chesney DVDs... sigh

I am also writing landlord, architectual and M&E scope of works. looks at the blank faces
That is pretty much where I was about two weeks ago. It is amazing what you can pick up when you need to.

So whilst panicking that we won't get started on site in time due to something I miss, I am allowing myself some Chesney. These small things are important for sanity's sake.

Oooo Kenny with no shirt!!!
starts to drool

This Work Lark

I have been thinking long and hard recently about whether this work lark is really worth it. I know work is worth it, you have to eat and pay for a roof over your head, I know THAT.
I'm just wondering about the other bits. You know the bits that get in the way of the stuff you REALLY want to do.
Is it really necessary to work till all hours when you could be writing or working as a kickass country music DJ?
The last few months have seen me working evenings and weekends just to keep the clients happy and it doesn't look like it will change in the next few months sigh

Of course you could argue if I didn't have three blogs, an active email life and an addiction to eHarlequin I would get work and writing done. And I can see your argument. I can. But then I really wouldn't have a social life. Honest.

So I have sat down and made a list. This is my new action plan for dealing with the work lark. I think you'll find it has been logically thought out:

Step 1. Find Rich Man
Step 2. Seduce Rich Man
Step 3. Marry Rich Man
Step 4. Quit Day Job
Step 5. Become Country Music DJ
Step 6. Write and Sell Bestseller
Step 7. Repeat step 6 until end

One of my other homes

As promised the link to my other blog. The first of the reviews:

  • Other Blog
  • In The Beginning There Was The Word...

    And it was "Hello!"

After much abuse and nagging from other bloggers I am actually going to post something.
Don't get me wrong, I love blogs. In fact I love blogs so much this is my third! All my writing friends are on blogger.com so I got myself a blog to make commenting easier. I have actually been hanging out on LiveJournal for over two years annoying a whole different set of people :-)

The writing has been mostly focused on music. I have been to quite a few concerts recently and I have been reviewing them for another blog, once I get them posted on there I will link to it.

So what will you learn from this blog?

You'll find out that I am a struggling writer, an aspiring radio presenter and harbour an unhealthy obsession with Country Music.

    Mwahahahahahaha

Oh and I do like to let loose with an evil laugh, a lot.

So come in and take a seat. Don't mind the regulars, I like to think of them as my 'care in the community' project.
